Forest: Light Up the Lawn, Ivy Hill Golf Course, 1148 Ivy Hill Dr., Free Event, kids activities, live music, food trucks, starts at 5 PM.
Sun., June 29:
Lynchburg: Celebrate America at TRBC, 1 Mountain View Rd., Free Event, live music, family activities, food trucks, gates open at 5:00 pm.
Wed., July 2:
Pembroke: Fireworks Show at Mountain Lake Lodge, 115 Hotel Cir, Free Event, music, food, activities, fireworks at dusk, 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Thu., July 3:
Amherst: Independence in Amherst Fireworks, Winton Farm, 599 Patrick Henry Hwy, Amherst, $12/carload, kids' activities, food trucks, cornhole, Gates open at 6:00 pm, fireworks at dark.
Bedford: Independence Day Before The Works, Liberty Lake Park, 939 Burks Hill Rd., $10 Adults/Children FREE, food trucks, kids' activities, music and, of course, fireworks, 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm.
Roanoke: Freedom Festival & Fireworks, Rivers Edge Park: North, 302 Wiley Dr SW, Free Event, live music, kids activities, food trucks, 4:00 PM - 9:30 PM.
Fri., July 4:
Buchanan: 4th of July Parade, along Main St., Free Event, Parade starts at 5:00 pm
Lovingston: Lovingston Fireworks, Nelson County High School, 6919 Thomas Nelson Hwy, Free Event, 9:15 pm.
Lynchburg: Independence Day Fireworks, Lynchburg Hillcats, Bank of the James Stadium, 3180 Fort Ave., Tickets: $11 to $19.50, gates open at 5:00 pm, game time 6:30, fireworks after the game.
Smith Mountain Lake: Fireworks and Saunders Vol. Fire Co's Fundraiser Event, Parkway Marina, $10 per person at the gate, 10 & younger free, live music, food trucks, kids' activities and fireworks, 5pm - 10pm.
Vinton: Four on the 4th Run, Vinton War Memorial, 814 E. Washington Ave., Race starts at 8am; Kids Fun Run begins at 9am.
Sat., July 5:
Lovingston: 4th of July Parade, Front St., Free Event, parade starts at 9:00 am.
