Prepare for a 'Flash Freeze' on Friday; Wind Advisory Issued

Photo: WSET

From ABC 13 - WSET Meteorologist Will Stafford:

Friday will be a day you’ll remember for a while.

Highs will be reached at midnight in the 40s, but by the time Friday afternoon gets here, we’ll be in the teens and 20s.

An arctic front will pass through during the early morning, which could create a quick burst or squall of snow, but that’s the only winter precip we see.

The larger impact will be the rapidly tanking temperatures through the rest of the day.

We will need to watch for some tricky travel on Friday with temperatures dropping so quickly.

Winds will also start to crank, and we could see gusts in the 40-50mph range.

That’s enough to cause outages, so we’ll, unfortunately, need to watch for that potential.

Not what you want to hear with some of the coldest air in years on the way.
