The National Weather Service Office in Blacksburg has extended the Winter Storm Warning for our Roanoke/Lynchburg/New River Valley listening area through Thurs., February 13:
WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST THURSDAY...
* WHAT...Significant icing. Additional ice accumulations between two tenths and three tenths of an inch possible.
* WHERE...Portions of northwest North Carolina, southwest and west central Virginia, and southeast West Virginia.
* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Difficult travel conditions are possible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes.
Motorists should use extreme caution if travel is absolutely necessary.
