Gov. Northam Lifts Mask Mandate for Those Who Are Fully Vaccinated

RICHMOND, Va. (WSET) — Governor Ralph Northam announced on Friday that Virginia will follow the latest guidance from the CDC and lift the universal mask mandate for those who are fully vaccinated.

Those with the COVID-19 shot will no longer be required to wear a mask in most situations.

Businesses may still choose to require masks in their establishments and masks will still be required in Virginia schools.

In the video announcement, Governor Northam also said that on May 28, all Virginia capacity restrictions will be lifted.
