Three K9's Join Campbell County Sheriff's Office

CAMPBELL CO., Va. (WSET) -- The Campbell County Sheriff's Office has recruited three new members to keep the community and their deputies safe.

Deeks, Dyson and Ranger are part of the new K9 program at the sheriff's office and each one has a unique set of tracking skills.

Deeks is a Belgian Malinois, Ranger is a German Shepherd, and Dyson is a Bloodhound.

Deeks and Ranger are trained to track using a combination of odor and ground disturbance while Dyson uses scent. Deeks and Ranger are also trained in narcotics, article search and apprehension.

Wednesday was the first day on the job for the K9s and Dyson already helped locate and rescue a woman from the woods.
