Wind Damage and Power Outages in Lynchburg Area After Storm Sweeps Through

A storm swept through portions of Timberlake, Forest and other parts of the Lynchburg area Monday night, leaving a great deal of wind and tree damage in its wake.

More than 3,000 APCO customers are without electricity. Power is expected to be restored by 5:00 pm Tuesday.

WSET Chief Meteorologist George Flickinger says the damage came from straight line winds estimated to be about 60 to 70 mph.
