State Police: Man Wanted After Crash That Left 1 Dead, 2 Injured

Virginia State Police said they are looking for a man involved in a two-vehicle crash in Culpeper County.

Police said 38-year-old Earl Nicholson was going north on Route 522 when he lost control, crossed the center line in the southbound lane, and hit 54-year-old Pamela Mozingo who was in the southbound lane turning.

The trooper investigating said Nicholson had serious injures and taken to the hospital by am ambulance at the scene.

But, Nicholson was never admitted to the hospital because police said he walked away as soon as the ambulance he was riding in arrived at the hospital.

Mozingo died at the scene.

Two passengers in Mozingo's vehicle were flown to UVA Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Police said the two men were not wearing their seat belts.
