BREAKING Roanoke Police Searching For Murder Suspect In Grandin

According to the Roanoke Police Department, they are searching for Michael Brown, the Franklin County murder suspect, in the area of the 2100 block of Grandin Road SW.

One of Brown’s cars was found Wednesday, Nov. 13 in South Carolina.

Authorities received a call around 4 a.m. about the suspect and then found an RV that they believe that Brown used to get from South Carolina to the Roanoke area.

According to Police Chief Tim Jones, that RV has been cleared by officers as well as members of the FBI, U.S. Marshals and other law enforcement officers.

They say he was last seen wearing a black hoodie.

Police say he is most likely on foot and possibly looking for transportation such as taxis, Ubers, buses and cars.

Police say he is considered armed and dangerous and may have access to weapons.

Brown is wanted for killing his mother's boyfriend in Hardy.

Police also say that all Roanoke City Public schools have been closed.

Officials say that Michael Brown is a former Marine and was last stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina where he worked as a combat engineer.

Michael Brown left Camp Lejeune on October 18 and has been seen in and out of Franklin County in the last two weeks, officials say.

If you see Brown, police say to not approach him and to contact the police department.
