Sheriff's office arrests a man on three burglaries

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office said a man has been arrested for three separate burglaries in the area.

The sheriff's office said they began investigating two burglaries on July 3 from Davis Mill Road and Menefee Road where checks, tools, a camera, gun safe, and money was stolen.

They said they were contact by the Rocky Mount Police Department about a man trying to cash checks that belonged to one of the victims at a Rocky Mount bank.

Then, investigators were contacted by the Henry County Sheriff's Office on July 5 with information on the burglaries in Franklin County.

Investigators said they interviewed the suspect, 34-year-old Curtis Sparks, Jr., at the Henry County Sheriff's office where he confessed to the two burglaries in Franklin County and then on from Ruritan Road on December 19, 2018.

Sparks is charged with three counts of burglary and three counts of grand larceny. Both charges are felonies.

The sheriff's office said this is an ongoing investigation and additional charges may be pending.
